Gerald Walter Ledger

Gerald Walter Ledger age 92, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020.  He was born on January 1, 1928 in Burlington, Wisconsin.  After his high school graduation, he joined the Army and served in World War II until he was honorably discharged in 1948.  Jerry then attended and graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1952 with a BS degree in Business Administration.  After a short career in the family business, Ledger Coke Plant in Lake Geneva, he received his teaching degree in 1966.  He taught business and accounting classes until he retired from Gateway Technical College after 25 years of service.  He was also a member of the National Association of Accountants.

Jerry and his wife, Jean loved to travel.  He was an avid golfer and bird watcher.  They enjoyed traveling for golf and bird watching adventures in various exotic locations.  Jerry gave his profession of faith in 1953 and joined the 1st Congregational Church of Lake Geneva where he remained a member until his death.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Walter M. and Grace H. Ledger and his only sibling, Charles Ledger.  He will be missed by his loving wife of 68 years, Jean Quisenberry Ledger of Lake Geneva; brother-in-law, William Quisenberry of Oregon; Marvella Q. Busick of Virginia.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 11th, 2020 at 11AM at Derrick’s Funeral Home, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  Visitation-Family time will be 10AM until service time.  Jerry will be laid to rest with his parents in a private service at Linn-Hebron Cemetery, Hebron, Illinois.  Due to Covid-19 the wearing of masks and social distancing is required.
