George Douglas Bootz

With great respect and heartfelt remembrance, we announce the passing of George Douglas Bootz, who left us on July 24, 2026, at home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on July 1, 1947, George’s life, though brief, leaves a meaningful imprint on all who knew him.

George dedicated himself to education and excellence from an early age. He graduated from Marquette University High School in 1965, laying a strong academic foundation that propelled him into further studies. George continued his pursuit of knowledge at Marquette University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree, instilling in him a commitment to growth, professionalism and lifelong learning.

Over the course of 30 plus years, George found his calling building a distinguished career in sales with Marshall Salon Services, serving the beauty salon industry with integrity, warmth, and unrivaled expertise. His colleagues and clients throughout the years remember his dedication, professionalism, and the personal touch he brought to every interaction.

Beyond his professional achievements, George garnered great joy from a variety of personal pursuits. He was an avid downhill skier, appreciating both the exhilaration and tranquility the sport offered. His passion for gardening and building landscape walls. reflected his nurturing spirit and love for nature’s beauty. Additionally, he found fulfillment in traveling for work, blending his professional responsibilities with his love for new experiences and connections across different places.

George’s lasting legacy is also deeply felt in the circle of his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy Hayward Bootz, whose companionship, love, and support were the hallmarks of his happiest days. He leaves behind his brother, Charlie Bootz, and his sisters, Barbara Bootz, Heidi Lindhorst, and Mary Steele. He also leaves his brothers-in-laws, Joe O'Hagen, Jim Lindhorst, and Keith Steele, sister-in-law, Debbie Friedland, and many nephews and nieces, all of whom benefitted from his kindness, wisdom and playful spirit. George is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Rosalie Bootz and brother, Robert Bootz.

To honor George’s memory and celebrate his life, family and friends are invited to a visitation on August 14, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Both gatherings will take place at Derrick Funeral Home & Cremation Services, located at 800 Park Dr, Lake Geneva, WI 53147.

Though George’s time with us was far too short, the warmth, generosity, and sincerity he shared endure in the memories and hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of dedication, enthusiasm, and love will remain a cherished inspiration.
