Gary E. Racette, 66, of the Lake Geneva Area died unexpectedly on Friday August 4th, 2017.

Born Gary Eugene Racette on May 31, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois to Eugene and Frances (Lane) Racette.  Gary was a member of the graduating class of 1970 from Wheeling High School.

Gary loved to cook and eat and loved the outdoors.  Gary loved his children and adored his grandchildren.

Gary has 2 children that survive him: Matthew (Lisa) Doudalis of Addison, Illinois and Marisa (Sean) Wilhelm of New Jersey. 4 grandchildren: Maria-Angela and Isabella Doudalis and Alexis and Adam Wilhelm survive Gary. Gary’s mother, Frances, 3 sisters: Lorene (Richard Tickner) Racette of Galena, Illinois, Elizabeth Racette of Elk Grove, Illinois, Mary (Chris) Louis of Bend, Oregon and 4 brothers: Michael (Debbie) Racette of Antioch, Illinois, Craig (Amy) Racette of McHenry, Illinois, Timothy (Ann Severance) of Plainfield, Illinois, and Chris (Marietta) Racette of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin all survive him.   His father Eugene preceded him in death.

Services for Gary will be held on Wednesday August 9th, 2017 at 7:30pm in the chapel of Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva.  Visitation will be from 4:00 until the time of the service.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you make a donation in Gary’s name to the National Kidney Foundation.  A link has been provided below for your convenience.
