Gary C. “Egg Man” Carroll, 73, of Franklin, WI formerly of Lake Geneva, WI, died Friday August 30, 2013 at his home. Gary Clark Carroll was born in Stockton, IL on October 21, 1939 the son of Clark and Dorothy Ann (Perry) Carroll. He graduated from Belvidere High School in 1957. On October 7, 1964 in Rockford, IL he was united in marriage to the former Sandra Holmgren. He owned and operated Dor-Clark Farms in Elkhorn, WI for many years; he also owned and operated Egg Mans Pub in Richmond, IL for 5 years. He tended bar at the Stage Stop Restaurant in Wilmot, WI for many years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle and bridge. However, his happiest times were spent with his grandchildren.
Egg Man is survived by: Sandi, his wife of almost 49 years, 2 sons Kirk (Beth) Carroll of Durango, CO and Clark (Melissa) Carroll of Madison, WI, 4 grandchildren; Zachary, Clare, Wesley and Mac, his mother Dorothy Ann Carroll of Franklin, WI, 2 sisters; Jill Carroll of Franklin, WI and Vikki (William) LaCroix of Williams Bay, WI and a brother Rick (Debbie) Carroll of Elkhorn, WI. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Bonnie Dinsmore.
A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Sunday September 8, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Café Calamari in Williams Bay, WI. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Gary’s name to the American Cancer Society.
