Gary Mark Kasten

Gary M. Kasten, 62, of the Genoa City area passed away on January 14, 2022 at his home in Genoa City.

Gary Kasten…..was not your average guy.

Gary was fun loving, kind, generous, adventurous, and lots of other things too! A man once met not easy to forget!

Way way back a very long time ago, April 25th 1981 to be exact, Gary married Linda! Not long after they had their first son Nick, a few years later Shawn came along and Gary was a proud dad of two boys. From playing hours of baseball with Nick to building race cars with Shawn, nothing aged him or made him more proud than watching them grow up.

A long but not too long of a time after his boys grew up he got the first of two of the greatest gifts he didn’t know he even needed! In 2008 Kaddyn was born and Gary was over the moon excited for his arrival! 2015 brought Kamryn who from the day she was born got the title of grandpa’s little princess! There’s nothing in the world that grandpa wouldn’t do for those kids! He also had an abundance of love for his grand dogs Tucker and Tilly! Even in their naughtiest of moments in Gary’s eyes they could do no wrong.

Always on the go from flea markets, football games, concerts, car races to hunting for deer or a great bargain! As someone who could never sit still for long he had countless plans for things to do and things he would like to do! Unfortunately time ran out and lots of the things where left undone. A few of the larger things he made sure to do in the last few years, like buying a house and taking a few road trips!

Family gatherings and holidays where a favorite for Gary! Not sure if it was seeing everyone or all the different snacks or maybe both that sparked his interest. He was sure to let you know if you forgot to make a snack that was there last time.

Gary is survived by Linda and Two children: Nicholas Kasten of Oregon, Illinois and Shawn (Britta) Kasten of Lake Geneva.  Two grandchildren: Kaddyn and Kamryn and five siblings: Butch hasten, Ronald Kasten, Sue Thruman, Sharon Cervantes and Robert (Judy) Kasten all survive Gary

Services for Gary will be held on Saturday February 12th, 2022 at 3:30pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral in Lake Geneva.  Visitation will be held from 12:30pm till the time of service on February 12th.
