Eva Marie (Smith) Baker

Eva M. Baker, 80, of Burlington, Wisconsin was called home to her Heavenly Father on January 24, 2022. Eva was safely guided by her late grandson, Slade Baker and her late sister, Betty Frank.

Eva was born in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin on September 10th, 1941, and grew up on Lily Lake.  She attended nursing school at Misericordia.  After graduating from Misericordia Eva started her nursing career serving her country in the Navy. After her service, you could find Eva at Mt. Carmel or Oak Ridge taking care of others until the end of her career.  Eva was married to William “Bill” Baker in Wilmot, Wisconsin on November 10th, 1970.

Eva was refreshingly honest, warm hearted, and welcoming to all the faces that sat at her kitchen table. There wasn’t a dog she didn’t love or enough chocolate in the world to satisfy her sweet tooth.  Eva lived a full life of gossiping with her grandkids, buying Christmas gifts all year around, and watching QVC like it was her day job.

Eva is survived by her husband of 51 years Bill.  Three children: Jennifer Zimmerman, Matt Baker, and Andrea Brown, survive Eva.  Ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren who adored her as much as she loved them survive Eva.  She will be incredibly missed and mourned by those she left behind.

Services for Eva will be held on Saturday February 5th, 2022, at 12:00pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burlington, Wisconsin.  Visitation will be held in Church on February 5th from 10:00am till 12:00pm.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you make a donation in Eva’s name to either St. John’s Lutheran Church or Lakeland Animal Shelter.  Links have been provided below for you convivence.
