Esther F. (French) Thom

Esther F. Thom, 99, of Walworth, WI, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, died Wednesday May 2, 2012 at Golden Years Health Care in Walworth. The former Esther French was born in Minneapolis, MN on August 16, 1912 the daughter of the late Robert and Aldean (Todd) French. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Minneapolis and then from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis with a degree in social work. In October of 1937 she was united in marriage to W. Craigen Thom; he preceded her in death in June of 1979. She was a talented pianist, and enjoyed playing at social events at Golden Years.
Esther is survived by: 2 daughters; Karen (David) Stein of Hayward, CA and Mary (Duane) Lafrenze of Lake Geneva, WI, 4 grandchildren; Eric Stein, Kevin Stein, Mark Lafrenz and Sarah Liedtke and 4 great-grandchildren; Tyler and Jacob Stein and Megan and Andrew Liedtke. She was preceded in death by a sister Anne Louise Foskett.
