Dr. Eric Carl Bruns

Dr. Eric Carl Bruns, age 62 of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, son of Carl and Elisabeth Bruns, died on June 18, 2024, peacefully in his sleep. He was a resident of Lake Geneva, WI since the early 90’s when he opened his podiatry practice E. Bruns Foot and Ankle in which he retired this previous March 2024.

Eric was an active member of the community serving several decades in the Lake Geneva Lions Club, an avid bowler at Lake Geneva Lanes, and participated in many local community events over the years. Those who knew Eric remember him for his towering size and equally large heart. He loved to cook and eat, especially Lou Malnati’s pizzas. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, and “attempting” to hunt as he loved nature and being in the woods. Eric had a fondness for the senior community and advocated for those he treated over the years.

Eric memory will live on by his daughter, Cristina Newton, son in law, Tom Newton, grandchildren, River and Theodore, sisters Katy Bruns (Monson), Andrea Buzek, brother in law, Rob Buzek, nieces Dana (Joel) Keller and Claire Buzek, nephews Benjamin (Michelle) Monson, Jacob (Lexi) Monson, Kyle Buzek, and Alex Buzek.

A memorial service will be held at Derrick Funeral Home on Sunday June 30th, 2024 from 1:00pm till 4:00pm where family, friends and community are invited to celebrate his life and share in their cherished memories of Dr. Bruns, AKA “Doc.”

In lieu, of flowers, donations can be made to Lake Geneva Side by Side organization to continue to help the community with the same big heart as “Doc.”
