Elizabeth "Liz" Jackson, born on May 8, 1929, passed away on September 10, 2026. She was the daughter of Rueben and Tyra Helin who immigrated from Finland. When she was three years old her mother took her and her brother, age six, back to Finland because the depression had caused her dad to lose his job and they lost their house. Mom remembered her years there as happy ones running around the family farm and enjoying her aunts and uncles' attention.  Her father eventually got a job and housing to support the family. So, seven years later they were able to take the long voyage back. As providence would have it, they were on the last boat to leave before Hitler started sinking all passenger ships. They returned back to Chicago, and she eventually attended North Park College. During one summer she and three other students ventured to Montana to teach Vacation Bible School. It really impacted her life and love of ministry and adventure. She graduated with a two-year degree as a parish worker. She was employed at a church on the southside of Chicago where she met her husband, Clifford, they were married for 71 years.  They enjoyed traveling, hosting parties, and a "good" cup of coffee.

Mom's love for God showed in everything she did.  She was always patient and kind. Always ready to put the coffee pot on with a treat. She loved being a Mom and Grandma, and Great-Grandmother. You'd find her on the floor playing or reading a book.

Liz and Cliff moved to Lake Geneva in 1999 and became a part of Calvary Community Church. In recent years they moved into Golden Years in Walworth. Our family would like to thank the staff for the wonderful care and love they showed them every day.

Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Jackson, and her brother Rudolph Helin.

She is survived by her son, Russel (Philomena) Jackson; and her daughters, Lynette Jackson and Christine (Jim) Pascolla, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Elizabeth Jackson will be held on September 19, 2026, 11 am, at Calvary Community Church in Williams Bay, Wisconsin.
