Elizabeth “Betty” Hansen

Elizabeth “Betty” Hansen, 93, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, passed away on October 15, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love for her family.

Born on April 27, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, Betty was the daughter of George and Mildred Tonnesen. She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Austin High School in 1951.

Betty found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, including singing in church, shopping at the mall with her sister, Rosalyn and raising her sons. She was very proud of her Italian heritage, during many of family dinners, she would raise her hand and with a big smile, say, “Mangiare”. These everyday moments, brought her great joy. Above all, Her sons were her greatest pride and joy, the bond they shared remained one of the deepest sources of happiness throughout her life.

Betty’s life reminds us that the greatest treasures are found in the people we love, the memories we create, and the moments we share along the way.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis Hansen; her parents, George and Mildred Tonnesen; and her daughter-in-law, Debbie.

Betty is survived by her loving sons, Glenn Hansen, Dave Hansen and his wife, Ellen; her grandson, Brandon and his wife, Kayleen; and her great-grandchildren, Elsie, Inez, and Callum.

A private service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
