Donald Sharer, 90, passed away on March 2, 2026, in Delavan, WI.
Donald Sharer was born on August 2, 1935 in Honolulu, HI, to Donald Sharer, Sr. and Naidah (Sharer) Ah Koi.
Donald married Barbara Louise Zelenko on 6/27/1959 at the Lake Geneva Methodist Church. The couple had 3 children, Amy Sharer, Michael (Jordan) Sharer, and Jacqueline(Byron) Robertson.
Donald was best known for his love for his family, his athletic abilities and his strong sense of humor. In later years, he enjoyed traveling with Barb all over the United States and working jigsaw puzzles. Dad created community over a lifetime in Lake Geneva, through coaching youth sports and being active in the Lake Geneva United Methodist Church. All of the neighborhood kids played with Don with marathons of kickball, football and even the occasional water balloon battle.
Donald also served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air force.
Donald is survived by Amy Sharer - daughter, Michael Sharer - son, Jacqueline Robertson - daughter, Jordon Sharer - daughter-in-law, Byron Robertson - son-in-law, Sherilyn Cabrido - sister, Taylon Sharer - granddaughter, Mitch Sharer - grandson, Caleb Robertson - grandson, Jasmine Robertson - granddaughter, Alaina Ward - granddaughter, Hannah MacLeod - granddaughter, Alice Ann Lepesna - great-granddaughter, Neveah Hogbaugh - great-grandson, and Nathanial Hogbaugh - great-grandson.
Donald is preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Sharer, his mother, Naidah Ah Koi and his older sister Helen Williams of Texas.
The service for Mr. Donald Sharer will be held on Saturday, at 11:30 AM at Derrick Funeral Home. Visitation: Saturday, at 10:00 AM at Derrick Funeral Home.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you donate in Don's name to Advocate Aurora Hospice.
