Donald “Don” Kulisz, 72, of Lake Geneva, WI formerly of Chicago, IL, died Tuesday August 14, 2012 at Aurora Saint Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. Don Kulisz was born in Ukraine on April 12, 1940 the son of the late Stefan and Stefania (Kowalyszyn). He moved to the United Sates with his family in 1950. He graduated from Wells High School in Chicago in 1958. On May 31, 1958 in Chicago, IL he was united in marriage to the former Marilyn Guidice.
Don was a member of Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva. He loved to build houses and spent many hours helping his friends. He was an avid reader and loved to spend time baking. He dearly loved his grandchildren and spent some of his happiest hours playing with his grandchildren.
Don is survived by: Marilyn, his wife of 54 years, 3 daughters; Donna (Gary) La Petina of Warrenville, IL, Karen Barrow of Lake Geneva, WI, and Laura (Scott) Wegner of Sugar Grove, IL, 6 grandchildren; Ryan Barrow, Patrick La Petina, Nicole La Petina, Matthew Wegner, Grace Wegner and Olivia Wegner, 2 sisters; Stefka (Nick) Baranowich of Toronto, Canada and Sophia Bone of Chicago, IL, a sister-in-law Mary (the late Michael) Kulisz and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: a grandson Paul Barrow and 2 brothers; Petro and Michael Kulisz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Monday August 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 148 Main St. Lake Geneva, WI. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Derrick Funeral Home, 800 Park Dr. Lake Geneva, WI.
