Diana Pfaff, 78, of the Elkhorn, Wisconsin area passed away on February 8th, 2025.
Diana Lynn Utter was born on August 31, 1946, to the late Clarence and Margaret (Steele) Utter. Diana was a member of the graduating class of 1964 from Badger High School in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
Diana was an always on the go lady. She loved to shop and there wasn’t a store that wasn’t on her radar. When she was done shopping, it was out to eat for meal, and it wasn’t unlikely that her beloved sister, Jean Caroline Utter, was driving her. Diana and Jean had a life-long friendship as sisters and took care of each other until the end. Over the years, Diana worked several jobs to take care of her family. She was often found downtown at the former Game Land, where her kids would end up after school or on the weekends and usually enjoy some fudge or other treats. Of all her jobs, she loved working at Kohl’s in Delevan for over a decade. She was social and talkative and kind to all, especially when at work at Kohl’s, and often shared how proud she was of her daughter, Sophia, who attended Marquette University and later completed her PhD in Educational Policy at Loyola University Chicago. She loved animals and especially the late great malamute, Samson, and Sophia’s bull terrier, Ziggy Pop Stardust, and newest grand-dog, Ralphie the bully. She was also an avid reader, and often would call upon her children and nieces to get her the latest James Patterson or Stephen King book. She was also a notoriously terrible cook, but still answered her daughter's calls with questions about how to make Sunday dinners, and many times over the years her children emptied out the “science projects” in the fridge. In her later years, Diana enjoyed lunches with friends and watching movies with Sophia during holiday visits, and of course reading her mystery novels.
Diana is survived by her three children: Sophia Rodriguez of Baltimore and recently NYC, Richard Pfaff (Dawn) of Delevan, and Michael Pfaff, and nieces and nephews, Valerie Utter (the late Kevin Wold), Vincent (Gabriela) Utter, Mark Utter, Linda (the late Joe) Ludford, and several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend Robert Monteith and many friends. Diana is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Edward Utter and sister Jean Utter.
Services for Diana will be held on Saturday February 22, 2025, at 4:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home.
