IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debra "Granny"
Enochs
April 6, 1957 – November 11, 2025
Debra Ann Enochs, lovingly known as "Granny" to all who had the pleasure of crossing her path, departed this earthly plane on November 11, 2025. Born on April 6, 1957, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, she embodied the essence of warmth and compassion throughout her life, earning the love of many in her beloved community.
Debra's journey through life was marked by her endearing personality; she radiated love and kindness, making everyone around her feel special. Her tenure as a bartender at the Pell Lake Inn offered her countless opportunities to connect with both regulars and newcomers, all drawn to her infectious spirit and magnetic charm. She was a pillar of support, always ready with a listening ear or a hearty laugh, and it was this very quality that endeared her to all who knew her, rendering her the cherished grandmotherly figure of their lives.
Her passions were as colorful as her personality. A die-hard fan of her Chicago Cubbies and the Chicago Bears, Debra reveled in the camaraderie and excitement of each game. The joyful melodies of the 50s and 60s filled her home, with Elvis Presley reigning as her musical favorite. She also found joy in the strategic battles of Gin Rummy, illustrating her playful yet competitive spirit that permeated her family interactions.
Debra's legacy is enriched by her three children: Rebecca (David) Ronkowski, William Enochs, and Eric Enochs, under her nurturing guidance. She reveled in the accomplishments of her 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, who brightened her days, each a testament to the love she bestowed. The resilience and bond of her seven siblings—Joseph Hardcastle, Sharon Pasina, George Hansen, Roy Hansen, Roger Hansen, Mark Hansen, and John Hansen—further highlighted the familial love that surrounded her.
A proud matriarch, Debra faced life's trials with unwavering courage, particularly after the loss of her beloved husband, William Enochs, on October 4, 2019, and her daughter, Michelle Enochs, alongside her parents, Edward and Irene (Mozdziesz) Hansen. These losses only seem to amplify the light she cast upon those fortunate enough to know her, serving as a reminder of the deep-rooted love she shared with her family.
While Debra Ann Enochs will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to illuminate the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend endures in the countless lives she impacted with her kindness, joy, and unwavering love. May her memory forever be a source of inspiration, reminding us all to embrace life with the same fervor and affection she championed.
