Dean A. Christy, 64, of Granbury, TX, died Thursday September 11, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, WI. Dean Alden Christy was born in Bloomington, IN on November 15, 1949 the son of the late Donald H. and Rachel A. (Barrow) Christy. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1967 he then graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in electrical engineering. He earned a dual M.B.A. in project management and business administration at Keller University. On September 6, 1975 in LaGrange, IL he was united in marriage to the former Suzanne Davisson. He had worked as an electrical engineer for the F.A.A. for many years. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol in Granbury, TX serving as a pilot with the rank of Major. He was a flight instructor in single and multiengine instrument airplanes. He was a member of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers. He was the owner of ChrisAir Aviation Consulting.
Dean is survived by: Suzie, his wife of 39 years, 4 children; Jason of Granbury, TX, Erin of Los Angeles, CA, Amy of Granbury, TX and Scott of Fort Worth, TX, a brother Donald (Janis) Christy of Bloomington, IN and a sister Tammy Adams of Huntington, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held on Wednesday September 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Derrick Funeral Home; Pastor Heather Brewer, Pastor of the Lake Geneva United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Christy family will receive visitors Wednesday at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until time of services.
