David William Henchel Sr.

David W. Henchel Sr., 68, of the Lake Geneva area died on August 3, 2018 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI.

Born David William Henchel on February 10th, 1950 to the late George and Elizabeth (Wilson) Henchel in Evergreen Park Illinois.  David was a member of the graduating class of 1968 from Rich East High School.  On June 14th, 1980 David was united into marriage to Sharon Novak in Calumet City, Illinois.

David was a huge sports fan and embraced everything Chicago.  David was a fan of all things music.  David loved to sing in church and special occasions.  David always had music playing in the house with an endless selection of CD’s.   David was also an accomplished Accordion player.  Out of all of David’s passions that he has none of them can overshadow the passion and the love he had for his family and his friends.

David is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sharon.  3 children: Sherry (Jason) Haywood of Kingsford Heights, Indiana: Jennifer (Andrew) Keeley of Hebron, Illinois: and David (Jenna Lynch) Henchel Jr. of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin all survive David.  5 grandchildren: Shawn, Spencer, Samantha, Dylan, and Brock along with 5 great-grandchildren all survive David.  1 sister: Linda (Robert) Novak of Bloomington, Illinois and 3 brothers: Glenn (Larurie) Henchel of Tinley Park, Illinois; Dale (Karen) Henchel of Evans, Georgia: and Ronald (Kathy) Henchel of Madison, Wisconsin also survive David.  1 god child, Jessica Golas, along with many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends all survive and remember David.

Services for David will be held on Wednesday August 8th, 2018 at 11:00am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 7th, 2018 from 2:00pm till 8:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  There will also be a small visitation on Wednesday August 8th, 2018 from 10:00am till the time of services.
