David L. Boyd, formerly of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, passed away on August 25, 2025, in Shiloh, Illinois.
He was born on November 21, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri, and was raised in Carlyle, Illinois, by his parents, W.K. “Bud” Boyd and Ellen Hill Boyd, alongside his siblings.
In his younger years, David considered joining the Navy or pursuing life on the road with his brothers’ band. He chose music and travel, embracing the road life and forming many lifelong friendships before eventually settling down.
In the late 1970s, David moved to Lake Geneva, where he built both his career and community ties. He worked for Bildon Industries and General Power in Harvard, Illinois, and later retired from Brunk Industries.
David was a devoted father to his two sons, Paul (Beth O’Connor) and Matthew (Kristine Everson), and a proud grandfather to his cherished granddaughters, Kassidy and Addison.
He was deeply involved in the local soccer community throughout Lake Geneva and Walworth County. David shared his passion for the sport as a coach with the YMCA, the Lake Geneva Thunderbolts, and the Lake Geneva Lakers Soccer Club, leaving a lasting impact on many young athletes.
David is survived by his brothers, Roger (Rita) and Larry (Carla), and his sister, Janet Foley, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 12, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at White River County Park, 6503 Sheridan Springs Road, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
