Darrel Eugene Norton Sr.

Darrel E. Norton Sr., 77, of the Genoa City area passed away on October 25, 2024, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.

Darrel was born on June 5, 1947, in Portland, Oregon, to the late Joseph and Mary (Miller) Norton.  Darrel’s family moved to Wisconsin where he became a member of the graduating class of 1965 from Badger High School.  On January 11th, 1966, Darrel joined the United States Marine where he would serve till 1971.  On June 7th, 1969, Darrel was united into marriage to Betty Smith in Lyons, Wisconsin.

Darrel was a past member of the Harvard a Moose Lodge and the Legion Hall in Delavan, Wisconsin.  Darrel was an avid bowler for 55 plus years.  Bowling everywhere from the Claire Lounge to Lake Geneva Lanes to Harvard.  Wherever there was a bowling tournament Darrel was there.

Darrel is survived by his wife, Betty, of 55 years.  Three children: Evelyn Norton, Darrel Norton Jr., Darlene Norton, along with nine grandchildren: Felicia, Adam, Abigail, Denzel, Douglas, Patricia, Rio, Rich, Joey and two siblings: Linda Norton and Joe Norton all survive Darrel.  Darrell was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary, one sister, Karen, and one child June.

Service for Darrel will be held on Saturday November 9th, 2024, at 2:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 11:00am till the time of service. Military honors will be held right at 2:00pm.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you donate in Darrel's name to: Vets Roll , Frank Kresen POST 24 , or Wounded Warrior Project .
