Carol Macdonald, 77, a long-time resident of the Lake Geneva area, passed away on January 25, 2025, after a year-long battle with cancer.
Born on August 2, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Ralph and Veronica (Knezic) Corrado, Carol was a proud 1965 graduate of Immaculata Catholic High School in Chicago. She was a devoted mother to three children and cherished every moment of their childhoods, making their lives full of love and joy. When asked about their mother, her children all agree—she was “The Best.”
As her family grew, Carol embraced her role as a grandmother with boundless love and devotion. She was a long time employee at both Prange Way in Lake Geneva and Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, where she formed many long-lasting friendships with her co-workers, who she considered close friends.
Carol’s favorite moments were spent with her children, grandchildren, and her beloved sister, Darlene, who passed away recently. She also enjoyed daily walks with her faithful dog, Polar, and loved playing Bingo and card games with her family.
Her strong faith and love for her church family were important parts of her life. Carol worshipped at St. Francis de Sales Church and took comfort in her close community there.
Throughout her battle with cancer, Carol remained a fierce warrior, facing each challenge with courage and grace. Her love, strength, and unwavering support for her family will be deeply missed.
Carol is survived by her three children: Kevin (Cindy) Taylor, Brian (Laura) Taylor and Julie (Tim) Mulligan. Five grandchildren: Ryan Taylor, Sarah (Cohen) Straube, Keira Taylor, Alex Mulligan, and Zackary Mulligan: along with her brother: Ralph Jr. and her first husband: George Taylor all survive Carol. Carol was proceeded in death by her parents: Ralph and Veronica, sister Darlene Jossart, brother Pat Corrado. and her second husband: Omer J. Macdonald.
Services for Carol will be held on Saturday February 8th, 2025 at 11:30am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva. A visitation will be held in church starting at 10:30. Burial will immediately follow the funeral mass at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you donate in Carol’s name to either; American Cancer Society or St. Judes.
