Carl Bruce Franzene

Carl B. Franzene, 72, of Lake Geneva, died on July 22, 2015 at Williams Bay Care Center.

Carl Bruce Franzene was born on July 26, 1942 (exactly one year before Mick Jagger) to the late Carl and Mary (Copeland) Franzene in Rockford, Illinois.  Carl was a graduate of Lakeland School in Elkhorn; and worked in the Lake Geneva area.  In his early years, he enjoyed traveling to see his favorite sports teams and had the privilege of meeting some of his favorite players.  Carl loved music and attended many concerts.  Throughout the years, he resided in various places; perhaps the two most notable being Geneva Place in Lake Geneva and Palmer Home in Lake Como.  Carl was a self-professed “loner,” but enjoyed visits from his family and good friends.

Carl is survived by nine siblings:  Mary Anne (Dan) Kroll of New Haven, KY; Michael (Lois) Franzene of Lake Geneva, WI;  Don (Carrie) Franzene of East Troy, WI; Jerry Franzene of Lake Geneva, WI: Barbara (Bob) Fukal of Lake Geneva, WI; Lou Anne (Bruce) Hunt of Oconomowoc, WI; Jo Anne Franzene of Milton, WI; Brian Franzene of Lake Geneva, WI; and John Franzene of Lake Geneva, WI.  Carl’s parents preceded him in death.

Services for Carl will be held on Monday, August 24, at 11:00 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva, WI.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family has asked that donations be made to either Lakeland School in Elkhorn, WI, or the Walworth County ARC (a local advocacy organization that helps people with developmental disabilities).  Links and/or address have been provided on our website.
