Bettye Jean (Bernard) Lukenbill, 84, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2026.
Bettye was born in Libertyville, Illinois to Robert and Ruth Bernard on May 10, 1941. She grew up with her older brother, Charles “Chuck”, older sister, Roberta “Bobbie”, and baby brother, William “Bill”.
Bettye attended Libertyville High School, raised two sons and began her career as a corporate secretary at Abbott Laboratories.
Bettye retired and spent 20 years living in Arizona spending time with her lifelong best friend Joan Robinson, enjoying the sunshine and the view of the mountains, while visiting her family in Wisconsin and Colorado.
Bettye will be missed by the many people that loved her. Bettye is “Mom” to her two sons, James “Luke” (Marnie) Lukenbill and Michael “Mike” (Leanne) Lukenbill. She is sister-in-law/cherished friend to Nancy (Chuck) Tissing. She is loving “Aunt Bettye” to her niece and nephew, Thomas (Anna) Bernard and Brittany Bernard. She is “Nana” to her grandchildren Camryn Lukenbill and J.R. Lukenbill and “Grandma” to Emma Lukenbill and Grace Lukenbill. She is “Great Aunt Bettye” to Thomas and Anna’s son, William Bernard.
