Betty Jean Sommer, 82, of Torrance, CA, formerly of Lake Geneva, WI, died Saturday August 10, 2013 at Huntington Retirement Home in Torrance. Betty Jean Sommer was born December 15, 1930 in Zenda, WI the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Leedle) Sommer. She graduated from Lake Geneva High School in 1948 and then from the University of California at Los Angeles with a degree in Business Administration. She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles, CA; she was a member of the Presbyterian Women’s Circle and the Westchester-del Rey Republican Women Federated.
Betty is survived by: a brother Robert (Vivian) Sommer of Delavan, WI, a niece Susan (Randy) Tchon of Lake Forest, IL, 4 great-nieces; Kristen (Britton) Cobb, Courtney Tchon, Caroline Kelly and Caitlin Kelly.
She was preceded in death by a niece Jacquelyn Kelly.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 21, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva, WI; Pastor Bill Ingersoll of Linn Presbyterian Church will officiate.
