Betty Jean Quensenberry Ledger

Betty Jean Quesenberry Ledger born on November 11, 1931, in Gary, West Virginia, to Orval Lee Quesenberry and Cora Lee Spraker Quesenberry passed on May 30, 2026.

After her father passed away, her family moved to Cripple Creek, Virginia to be closer to family.

She & her mother later moved to Roanoke, Virginia, where Jean graduated from Jefferson High School.

She met the love of her life, Gerald W. Ledger, a graduate of Virginia Tech and married on September 27, 1952, at Christ Lutheran Church, Roanoke VA.

After their marriage, they moved to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where Jerry was born and raised. Jean worked for Wisconsin Energy for much of her work career and later retired from there.

They shared a long life together and enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and birdwatching. Jean was also an avid bowler and won many trophies that reflected her talent.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; and her siblings, Bill Quesenberry of California, Orval Quesenberry of Tennessee, and Marvella Quesenberry Busick of Virginia. Having no children of their own, Jean is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jean and Jerry had resided in an assisted living center since before 2016. The family would like to thank the staff of Hatties Bay Assisted Living (formerly Sage Meadows) and St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Jean and Jerry in their final years.

There will be a chapel service on Thursday June 4th, 2026 at 10:30am in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home.
