Bertha E. (Ross) Mikrut

Bertha E. Mikrut, 80, a lifelong resident of Lake Geneva, WI, died Monday December 22 at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.  The former Bertha Elsie Ross was born in Hebron Township, WI on November 7, 1934 the daughter of the late Peter C. and Hazel (Graske) Ross Sr.  She graduated from Lake Geneva High School in 1952.  On January 5, 1957 at Saint Francis deSales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva she was united in marriage to Casey J. Mikrut; he preceded her in death on November 21, 2012.  She and Casey ran the Como Inn and Restaurant for many years and also ran Mikrut Realty for many years.  She was a life member of the Lake Como Beach Women’s Club and a former member of the Lakes Area Realtors Association.
Bertha is survived by:  5 children; John (Cheryl) Mikrut of Lake Geneva,  Diane (Gary) Cocroft, of Lake Geneva, Janet (John Beckman) Winters of Adams, WI, Mary (Daniel) Lauderdale, of Lake Geneva, and Patti (Klaus) Aagaard of Algonquin, IL, 9 grandchildren; Heather (Chris) Lindloff, Brad Mikrut, Ryan (Jessica) Cocroft, Caitlin Cocroft, Christopher (Heather) Winters, Michael (Erica) Lauderdale, Kayla Lauderdale, Kristin Aagaard and Erin Aagaard and 7 great-grandchildren; Logan and Connor Lindloff, Logan, Ethan and Brooklyn Winters, Lauren Cocroft and Abigail Lauderdale and a sister Mary Ezelle.  She was preceded in death by a sister Louise Kline and 2 brothers; Peter Ross Jr. and Charley Ross Sr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said Monday December 29, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Francis deSales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva; Father Jim Scheurman will officiate.  Burial will follow in Saint Francis deSales Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva.  In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested to: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 3333 N.
