Bernetta June (Harden) Gaare

Bernetta J. Gaare, 91, of Antioch, Illinois passed away on April 2, 2025, at the Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Bernetta was born on January 24, 1934, to the late Lester and Easter (Summers) Harden in Missouri. Bernetta was united into marriage to the late John E. Gaare Jr., he preceded her in death on December 3, 1993.

Bernetta had a passion and love in collecting anything and everything Elvis Presley. Bernetta’s apartment was a wall-to-wall memorabilia to the King of Rock-n-Roll. Bernetta had visited Graceland many times.

Bernetta is survived by her two daughters: Debbie (Jim) Smith and April (Tim Grace) Fischer.  Three grandchildren: Jesse Smith, Rachel Hampton, and Dakota (Keaghan) Alwardt along with 9 great grandchildren: Alicia (Miguel) Gonzalez, Grace Smith, Gage and Drake Bishop, Danica Smith, Avalon and Jameson Hampton, Wolf and Coast Alwardt and three great-great grandchildren who will all remember their Nana with love in their hearts.

Bernetta loved to brag about being spoiled by two men in her life who made sure she had special meals every week, Tim Grace and John Alwardt, her family is truly grateful.

There are no services scheduled at this time for Bernetta.  The burial will be private, she will be laid to rest at Fort Sheridan Cemetery with her loving husband John.  Her family will have a celebration of life for Bernetta at a later date.
