Barbara Ann Laskowski, née Rahn, passed away on October 23, 2026, in Burlington, Wisconsin. She was born on June 21, 1935, in Wisconsinin, and lived a life centered on family, home, and the simple joys that become cherished traditions across generations.
Raised on a farm, Barbara carried that grounding with her throughout her life. She loved the rhythm and familiarity of family life, especially Sunday dinners together, and she delighted in cooking for those she loved. She enjoyed driving around on the farm and giving all the kids rides in her John Deere Gator, treasured the quiet of no noise at night, and found happiness in the comforts of home and routine. Her family was her proudest accomplishment, and that devotion was evident in the way she gathered, cared for, and created lasting memories with those around her.
Barbara also had a creative and spirited side. She loved to embroider and crochet, pursuits that reflected her patience and care. She was an avid watcher of game shows and enjoyed playing cards, especially Sheepshead, Schmier and 13. Among the distinctive memories of her life was a song recorded and played on the radio, titled “Beautiful Brown Eyes,” a detail that speaks to the warmth and personality she brought into the world.
Above all, Barbara will be remembered as the heart of her family. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Bryan Laskwoski and his wife, Betty; Susan Clapp and her husband, Jeff; Janet Held and her husband, Dave; daughter in-law, Elizabeth; Scott Laskowski and his wife, Shawna; David Laskowski and his wife, Susan; and Jim Laskowski and his wife, Kelly; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In their lives, and in the life of the family they share, her love endures.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anton "Tony" Laskowski on October 3, 2009, her parents, Theodore and Julia Rahn; by her son, Wayne Laskowski; and by her siblings Robert, Richard, Phillip, Theodore, Marie, Pauline, Margaret, and Agnes. Their memories remained part of the larger story of Barbara’s life, a story rooted in family bonds that stretched across many years.
Funeral services will be held on November 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Derrick Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 800 Park Dr, Lake Geneva, WI 53147.
