Alverna “Cookie” Davisson, 98, of the Williams Bay area passed away on January 2, 2024, at Williams Bay Care Center.
Alverna, or Cookie as she was later known in life as, was born on September 23, 1925, to the late Alfred and Alverna Koch in LaGrange, Illinois. Cookie was a member of the graduating class of 1943 from Lyons Township High School. After high school Cookie went on to attend Purdue University where she earned a bachelor’s in psychology. On June 19th, 1948, Cookie was united into marriage to her husband Richard “Dick” Davisson.
Cookie loved to be active all her life. She was a member of the Williams Bay Civic League and of Kiwanis. She loved to do water aerobics to stay fit and active. The most important thing in Cookie's life was all the time that she got to spend with her family.
Cookie is survived by her two children: Cathy (Bob) Butschke and Suzie Christy. Cookie will also be survived by her five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Cookie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, on February 27, 2009, her parents, her two siblings: Jeanne Williams and Kenneth Koch, one grandchild, Beau Butschke, and one son-in-law Dean Christy.
Services for Cookie will be held on Thursday January 11th, 2024, at 12:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday January 11th, 2024, from 11:00am till the time of service.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you donate in Cookie's name to: Wounded Warrior Project , ASPCA , Shriners Hospital for Children .
