Obituary

Allen Lewis Peter, born March 24, 1950 in Mercer, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His departure leaves a poignant space in the hearts of those who loved him, and his memory will forever be cherished.

From his earliest days in Wisconsin, Allen exhibited a remarkable energy for life. He completed his education at Wilmot High School in 1968, a milestone that marked the beginning of his journey as a person devoted to both self-improvement and the people around him. Allen became known for his boundless enthusiasm for physical activity and adventure.

Allen found enormous joy in working out, playing racquetball, bicycling through Wisconsin’s scenic landscapes, and jogging—often pushing himself not just for the thrill of the challenge but for the pure love of movement. Those close to him fondly remember him as having a strong, even excessive, work ethic and zest for life.

Yet, of all Allen’s passions, none was more profound than his love for his family. He was a constant, steady source of affection and support. Allen never missed an event involving his grandchildren, no matter how big or small, and found meaning and happiness in being present for the ones he loved. Family gatherings were never complete without his laughter and genuine interest in every detail of his loved ones' lives. Allen’s ability to love deeply and unconditionally stands as a beautiful legacy.

Allen’s life was threaded with joys and sorrows, triumphs and challenges, including the loss of his wife Kristine, son Michael, grandson Caleb, and his parents, Elmer Peter and Audrey Hofer. These losses shaped him, but never diminished the warmth of his heart. He remained a pillar for his family, offering strength, kindness, and steady encouragement.

He is survived by his loving children, Nicholas Peter and his wife Kimberly and Kelly Peter, his daughter-in-law Carol Peter, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and his five siblings: Dave, George, Charlene, Carol and Keith, all who carry forward his legacy of enthusiasm, kindness, and love. Though his absence is profoundly felt, Allen’s memory endures in the countless moments of joy, guidance, and support he gave so freely.

Family, friends, and all who were touched by Allen’s generous spirit are invited to honor his life at Derrick Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 800 Park Dr, Lake Geneva, WI 53147. Visitation will be held on July 18, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

As we gather to remember Allen Lewis Peter, let us hold each other close in gratitude for the lasting and loving impact he made on a world that was all the better for his presence. His memory will be treasured, his stories retold, and his spirit felt in every jogged path and family milestone shared for generations to come.
