Albert V. Staroszczyk passed away on July 20, 2026, leaving behind a family who will forever miss his humor and kindness.
Albert was born in Warsaw, Poland, and at the age of nine immigrated to the United States with his mother, settling in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and St. Rita High School before graduating from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree and teaching certification.
More than anything, Albert loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who put his family first. He enjoyed sharing stories, celebrating holidays, tackling projects together, and spending time with the people who meant the most to him.
Albert also had many hobbies and interests. He loved gardening, reading, cooking, classical music and the theater. He especially enjoyed sitting on the porch and spending time outdoors. He was happiest when he could get other people interested in the things he loved.
Albert is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Ann (Adamkiewicz); his children, Karen (Curt) Frost, Sharon (Dave) Flitcroft, Paul Staroszczyk, and Tom (Abby) Staroszczyk; and his six grandchildren, Zach (Tiffany) Flitcroft, Madelyn Flitcroft, Josh Frost, Megan Frost, Ben (Molli) Staroszczyk, and Katie Staroszczyk. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Stella (Pasiennik) Staroszczyk.
Albert's family will carry his love, laughter, and the countless memories they shared with him always.
