Abril Nohely Mecozzi

Abril Nohely Mecozzi, age 35, passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2026 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was born on November 14th, 1990, and will be remembered with deep love by all whose lives were brightened by her presence.

After graduating from Badger High School in Lake Geneva, Abril obtained her pharmacy technician license while working at Walgreens. She then embarked on a successful career with Baxter Healthcare in their home care division, eventually becoming a Salesforce Product Owner at their renal spinoff company, Vantive.

Abril took pride in her appearance and always dressed to impress. She collected purses, handbags and wallets and was rarely seen without one. She also found joy in music and was an avid concertgoer.

Above all else, Abril was a devoted mother to her two beloved sons, Jay Tanner and Jake Thomas, who were the center of her world and her greatest achievement in life. Whether she was baking their favorite brownies and Mickey Mouse pancakes, working on arts and crafts together, or cheering passionately from the stands at their baseball games, her love for her boys was evident in everything she did.

Abril is survived by her two sons, Jay and Jake Mecozzi, her mother, Emma Schultz; her fathers, Peter Schultz and Juan Jose Gonzalez; her sister, Salma Schultz; her niece Luna Mercado; her grandmothers, Angelina Fuentes Trujillo and Jane Schultz; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on October 9, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Derrick Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 800 Park Dr, Lake Geneva, WI 53147. A memorial service will follow from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the same location.
