Susan B. Carlson, 96, of the Lake Geneva area died on Tuesday October 22, 2019 at Lakeland Nursing Home in Elkhorn Wisconsin.
Born Susan Baker to the late William and Katharine (Bertels) Baker in Evanston, Illinois on New Year’s Eve in 1922. Susan attend Northshore County Day School in Winnetka, Illinois where she was a member of the graduating class of 1941. After high school Susan went to Prine Manor college then on to Northwestern where she received a bachelor’s degree. On November 21st, 1950 in Winnetka, Illinois Susan was united into marriage to Androv Carlson. Susan and Androv were married for 51 years before his passing in 2001.
Susan loved to play golf and was a member of “The Limber Timbers”, a square dance group. Susan loved the Opera and the symphony, was a member of the Southern Lakes Masterpiece Coral, but nothing could outshine her passion and her love for sailing. Susan was a member of the Lake Geneva Yacht club where she learned how to fine tune her sailing skills.
2 children survive Susan: Katharine Findley and Androv (Sheree) Carlson all from the Lake Geneva area. 4 grandchildren: Jimmy (Katie) Carlson, Anna (Craig) Slawny, Britta Findley, and Bridger (Aubrie) Findley and 5 great grandchildren: David and Aaron Carlson, Julia Slawny, Weston and Willow Findley all survive Susan. Susan was preceded in death her husband, Androv, and one son William.
Services for Susan will be held on Friday November 1, 2019 at 3:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home. A reception will be held after the service till 5:30 at the funeral home.
