So very sorry to hear about the loss of such a great and admired man. From reading his obituary, it is clear to see that he touched the lives of so many people in such a positive way. Our prayers are with the entire Pankau family during this difficult time.

Claudia,
I received an email from Donna Ebert the other day. I was not able to make it to the wake and funeral today, but I wanted to let you know how sorry I am. We are all in that stage of life where we are losing loved ones and I know how tough it can be. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Focus on the good times and it will make the tough times easier to handle.
Take care,
Jim Zei

Our deepest sympathies to Carol and her family. I grew up several blocks from the Milwaukee Ave. Rexall store and remember as a kid going to pick up prescriptions for my family...and the tube testing machine of all things. Though I believe Warren ran the Milwaukee Ave. Rexall, I was delighted to discover years later, when taking up residence in 1991 on Snake Road, that Carol and Ron were just around the corner from Betty and I. We became friends as well as neighbors and I'll never forget the day Ron showed us the picture of the Pope waving to the crowds on Milwaukee Ave., with the Rexall sign in the background!
Ron was a great man and he will be sorely missed by all of us. He was a gentleman's gentleman...the mold was broken when he came into this world and we shall not look upon his likes again.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. What a tremendous man. Reading through his obituary I realized how instrumental he was in so many institutions, the most obvious being the Water Safety Patrol, but all of the others, including the building of Lutheran General Hospital. Clearly, he was a man who was civic minded and forward thinking, not leaving it up to someone else to do the work to make positive things happen. I grew up in Park Ridge where the Pankau's lived before they moved away and I am proud to have shared that brief connection. Years later, I was fortunate to get to know and love Geneva Lake and the WSP. After that, I got to know Kathy (Brett), Glenn, Carol and Ted. There are no words to describe my respect for your family. Let me be very clear that your loss, is our loss. My very best in these difficult times, Sally Cassidy

I will pray for the entire Pankau family during this difficult time. My heart so hurts as Ronny treated me like a daughter for many years. as I worked with him at Pankau Pharmacy. He helped mold me into the person I became. They do not make them like him anymore. I will always Love and miss him.

Condolences and Prayers for the Family. Uncle Ron was greatly loved and will be missed by all of us. He is in Our good Lord Jesus hands now. But even though we grieve, we grieve not as those that have no hope in the resurrection. Ron and Carol had always been a second immediate family for me. May Ron Rest in the Peace of God.
