Robert Cruse Morton, b. 3/10/1934, 83 yrs. of Lake Geneva, WI, died Friday, January 26, 2018, after an extended accident related illness. "Bob" Morton was formerly of Chester, New Jersey, son of the late Robert F. and Dorothy (Cruse) Morton. He attended Missouri Valley College. On June 27, 1958, in Stuttgart, Germany he was united in marriage to Susan Dickinson Morton. He is a U.S. Army Veteran, a marksman, and also served as editor of the Army Post in Schwabisch Hall, GER. Bob was a dedicated Manufacturers Representative in the metals industry throughout the Mid-West, a Mason, a ski patroller, and a wonderful father and friend. In semi-retirement Bob and Sue enthusiastically owned and operated General Boyd's Bed and Breakfast in Lake Geneva, the old family farmstead. Full of stories and always understanding of others, he was an avid aficionado of history, the military, all things outdoors, and genealogy. He was a member and elder of the Pilgrim Church in Lake Geneva. Bob stayed active in Boy Scouts from his youth, as an assistant Scoutmaster at 16 years old, then serving as Scout Master for Troops 239 and 236. He proudly engaged his 4 sons to earn their Eagle Scout Awards, guided dozens of youth in character development, and loved keeping the troops entertained with camping and fireworks. He also aimed his daughter to become an accomplished outdoors woman. Robert is survived by: Susan, his sweet wife of 59 years; 5 constructive children: Robert Morton of Helena, MT, David (Judith) Morton of Wilmette, IL, Nathan Morton of Cardiff, CA, Stuart Morton of Brookfield, WI and Sarah (David) Schuster of Lake Geneva, WI; 13 promising grandchildren; and a caring sister Merry Morton of Chester NJ.
Memorial Services for Robert and his wife Susan will be held Saturday March 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Geneva Lakes Christian Church, 2906 Willow Rd., Lake Geneva WI.
