Paula Emma (Kneissler) Heick

Paula E. Heick, 99, of Lake Geneva, WI, died Tuesday March 14, 2017 at her home. The former Paula Emma Kneissler was born in Freudenstadt, Germany on December 3, 1917 the daughter of the late Fredrick and Louise (Fuss) Kneissler. She arrived in the United States on April 16, 1937. On April 19, 1937, in Chicago, IL, she was united in marriage to Fredrick O. Heick; he preceded her in death on December 31, 1981. Paula had an integral part in the formation of the Lake Geneva Youth Camp in Lake Geneva, WI. She prepared meals for the volunteers and workers that developed the camp. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed baking cookies. Paula is survived by: 3 children; Fred (Diane) Heick of Lake in the Hills, IL, Lori (Larry) Murray of Elkhorn, WI and John (Karen) Heick of East Troy, WI, 14 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, a brother, Kurt (Gitta) Kneissler of Freudenstadt, Germany and a sister Lore Gacoin of France. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters Luise and Elfriede and a brother Fritz. Services for Paula will be held on Friday March 17, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. in Bayview Hall (Heick Center) at the Lake Geneva Youth Camp. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Paula’s name to the Lake Geneva Youth Camp. Derrick Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Heick family with arrangements.
