Onergis Martinez, 51, of Genoa City Wisconsin passed away at his home on September 24, 2018.
Born Onergis Rodelmiro Martinez in Guatamela to Greyorio Gutierrez and Maria S. Martinez on February 20, 1967. On October 30, 1998 Onergis was united into marriage to Mery Lucita in Carpentersville, Illinois.
Onergis was a man of many talents. He was a Pastor for Gethsemanie Baptist Church in Illinois. He loved the outdoors and to go Camping. Onergis was a master at welding and would never say no to the most trying jobs. Onergis was an accomplished musician learning to play the guitar, piano, and bass. Onergis was a singer and a songwriter and loved to share this gift with everyone. Never was there a day that Onergis did not have a smile on his face or thumbs up was given. Out of all the stuff that Onergis loved, there was no greater love than what he had for his family and friends.
Onergis wife of 20 years, Mery, survives him. 4 children: Daniel G. and Onergis E. Martinez of Genoa City, Wisconsin and Brittany Martinez and Walter Martinez of Texas survive Onergis. 5 grandchildren, 3 sisters: Rebecca, Marleni and Nubia M Gutierrez and 2 brothers: Henry Martinez and Wagner Obeel Gutierrez and his parents: Greyorio Gutierrez and Maria Martinez all survive Onergis.
Visitation will be held for Onergis on Friday September 28th, 2018 from 6:00pm till 10:00pm in the main chapel of Derrick Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday September 29th, 2018 at Bloomfield Cemetery. There will be a short visitation from 9:30am till 10:30 am on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family has asked that you make donations to the Martinez family to help off set medical cost that were incurred during the time that Onergis was ill.
