Norman J. Schreiner, 72, a lifelong resident of Lake Geneva, died Friday August 3, 2018. Norman Joseph Schreiner was born on June 28, 1946 in Elkhorn, WI the son of the late Leo and Rose (Polak) Schreiner. He was a 1964 graduate of Badger High School in Lake Geneva. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 102nd Corps of Engineers during the Vietnam War. He then earned an Associate Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at Madison Area Technical College. On August 28, 1971, in Lake Geneva, he was united in marriage to the former Shirley Minerick. He began a carpenter and retired a commercial construction Superintendent in 2009 from Hunzinger Construction Company in Brookfield, WI.
Norm was a member of the Frank Kresen American Legion Post #24 in Lake Geneva. He was a lifelong member of Saint Francis deSales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva. He was an active member of Vets Roll in South Beloit, IL. He was a member of the N.R.A. and the Delavan Sportsman’s Club in Delavan, WI.
Norm is survived by: Shirley, his wife of 47 years; 2 children, Andrew (Jamie) Schreiner of East Troy, WI and Theresa (Dan) Jegerski of Elkhorn, WI; 4 grandchildren, Neve, Ryland, Eddie and Alice; sister Frances (Henry) Rodgers, and a brother Ronald (Linda) Schreiner, both of Lake Geneva. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Cynthia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday August 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva; Father Mark Danczyk will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, in church, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A celebration of Norm’s life will be held immediately after Mass at the Frank Kresen American Legion Post #24, 735 Henry Street, Lake Geneva. Burial will be at a later date at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
