Nancy Moore Obituary

Nancy Lou (Wilcox) Moore, 83, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, formally of Woodstock, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, Wisconsin.  

Nancy was born on June 29, 1935 to Clarence and Mary Wilcox in Marengo, Illinois where she graduated from Marengo High School with the class of 1953.

On February 24, 1961 she married Raymond “Ray” W. Moore in Yorkville, Illinois.  They had two sons.  Ray and Nancy made their home in Brownsville, Texas for eight years and, upon Ray’s death in 1970, Nancy returned to Marengo.  She later moved to Woodstock, Illinois where she resided for many years before moving to Lake Geneva.

Nancy was employed by both the McHenry County Illinois and Cameron County Texas Treasurer’s Offices for several years.  She retired in 1998.

Nancy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Woodstock, IL.

Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family and her trusted life long friends with whom she lunched monthly at “class reunion lunches”.  She loved books and was an avid reader, often reading two or more books at the same time.

Survivors include her sons, Dan (Patty) of Naperville and Jim (Lori) of Lake Geneva; a stepdaughter Susan (Ed) of Wyoming; a sister, Mary (Dale) Fox, seven grandchildren: Emalee (Max) Morley, Darryl Moore, Kelsey Brown, Matthew Brown, Morgan Moore, Makenna Moore, and Megan Moore; one step-grandson Scott Robertson (Monique); two step-greatgrandchildren Cameron and Kaylor Robertson; many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray; six brothers and two sisters.

There will be a private funeral held at a later date.
