Margaret C. (Beattie) Arient

Margaret C. Arient, 95, of Lake Geneva, WI, died Saturday February 25, 2017 at Arbor Village in Lake Geneva.  The former Margaret Catherine Beattie was born in Shotts, Scotland on October 5, 1921.  She was brought to the U.S. as a child. On July 31, 1942, in New Orleans, LA she was united in marriage to James Arient; he preceded her in death on January 11, 1998.  She was a member of Saint Francis deSales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva and formerly a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Pell Lake, WI where she was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society. Margaret enjoyed playing games and working with ceramics.  She also enjoyed taking cruises and spending time in Florida.

Margaret is survived by: 3 children; Nancy Arient of Gulf Breeze, FL,

Patricia Proffitt of Highlands Ranch, CO and Scott (Maureen) Arient of Lake Geneva, WI, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband and a son James T. Arient.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Tuesday February 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Francis deSales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva; Bishop Elect Jim Scheurman will officiate.  Burial will follow in Bloomfield in Bloomfield Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva.  In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Margaret’s name to: Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  To sign the on-line guest registry click guest book/condolences.
