Lawrence L. “Larry” Huml, Jr., 86, of Waukegan, IL formerly of Lake Geneva, WI, died Friday November 30, 2018 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Lawrence Leo Huml Jr. was born in Lake Geneva, WI on August 25, 1932 the son of the late Lawrence L. and Marian (Funk) Huml Sr. He graduated from Lake Geneva High School in 1950 he earned a B.A. Degree in history at Quincy University and then a Masters Degree in history at Roosevelt University. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was an expert ping pong player, he also like to golf and bowl. He enjoyed doing cross word puzzles and spending time with his friends. He will be remembered for his corny jokes.
Larry is survived by: a son Lawrence L. Huml III of Racine, WI, 2 grandchildren Payton and Ava, 3 brothers; jack (Jackie) Huml of Lake Geneva, WI, Thomas Huml of Bloomington, MN and Michael (Joan) Huml of Lake Geneva, WI. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Sister Joan of Christ the King O.C.D. and Joanne McGovern.
Mass of Christen Burial will be celebrated Thursday December 6, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Francis deSales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva; Father Mark Danczyk will officiate. Burial will follow in Saint Francis deSales Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, in church, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Larry’s name to: Catholic Charities, 671 So. Lewis Ave. Waukegan, IL 60085.
