Christiane (Guiffaut) Marszalek

Christiane Marszalek, 92, a long time resident of Lake Geneva, WI, died Tuesday March 6, 2018 at her home.  The former Christiane Therese Marguerite Lucie Guiffaut was born in France on July 23, 1925 the daughter of the late Louis and Lucienne (Latour) Guiffaut. On February 9, 1947 in Chicago, IL she was united in marriage to Robert F. Marszalek; he preceded her in death on February 18, 1990.

Christiane was an accomplished, talented artist; she was an active member of the Geneva Lake Art Association.  She was an avid bridge player playing in 2 leagues and bridge marathons until the age of 90. She had worked for many years as a seamstress for the Pantorium and for Barton’s in Lake Geneva. She was a friend to all and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by: 3 children; Marc (Deborah) Marszalek of Minocqua, WI, Noelle Burns of Lake Mills, WI and Michelle Gauger of Delavan, WI, 5 grandchildren; Rebecca Marszalek, Amanda Stromback, Cassandra Schneider, Carlye Marszalek and Amy Marszalek, 4 great-grandchildren; Hannah, Lindsey, Emma, Adam and Brynn and a brother Roger (Lorraine) Guiffaut of Chicago, IL.

She was preceded in death by a son Gregg and a son-in-law Edward W. Burns.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday March 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva. Burial will follow in Saint Francis deSales Catholic Cemetery.   Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva.
