Welcome to the memorial page for

Arthur William Kleiner

August 2, 1924 ~ March 8, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Arthur W. Kleiner, 92 years of age, passed away at his home in Salem, Wisconsin, as he was surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

Art was born in Shawneetown, Illinois, on August 2, 1924 to Arthur William and Margaret Belle (Kuenzi) Kleiner, the second of four (4) children.  After graduating from Sullivan High School in Chicago, he attended a semester of Night School at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in preparation for his career as a skilled workman in woodworking.  "Have you seen a man skillful at his work?  He will stand before kings..." (Proverbs 22:29)

After enlisting in 1942, Art was honorably discharged on December 8, 1945,  after almost four years of service finally serving as Sergeant.  After returning home, Art married Nancy McClellan and they had three children together, Carol, Kenneth and Christine.  They were married for 17 years.  During that time Art lived in Chicago where he worked various jobs to provide for his family until eventually moving to Glenview, Illinois.

While Art loved the woodworking business, what he came to love more was the taking in knowledge of the scriptures and building faith in Jehovah God and his Son, Christ Jesus.  He truly believed in God's promises of a day of resurrection, when those in God's memory will be called from the grave to live again. (John 6:40 and John 5:28, and 29) Noteworthy, the word, "resurrection," means "a standing up again," a rising up from death.  Such hope sustained him during his illness.  Art was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 10, 1965.

After Nancy's death from cancer, Art married Rose Sanger on September 4, 1965 and together they had a son, Andrew, and celebrated 51 years of marriage. Art is survived by his wife Rose and his four children: Carol (Robert) Larsen, Kenneth (Jill) Kleiner, Christine (David) Schneider and Andrew (Terri) Kleiner.

Art is also survived by nine (9) grandchildren: David Larsen, Eric Larsen, Brandon (Bethany) Kleiner, Jeremy Larsen, Heather Schneider (Andrew) Guth, Kyle Kleiner, Jessica Schneider, Katelyn Kleiner, and Jamie Kleiner and six (6) great grandchildren: Noah Larsen, Hannah Larsen, Lily Kleiner, Brooklynn Schneider (Guth) Johnathon (Jack) Kleiner, and Carter Guth.

Art was preceded in death his sisters Kay, Helen and his brother John as well as his grandson Daniel Kleiner.

A memorial service for Art will be held at 1:30pm at Bigfoot Country Club in Fontana, Wisconsin on Saturday March 25th, 2017.  Visitation will be held from 12:30 till the time of service at the Country Club.  There will be a reception to follow.
