Arlis N. Hogberg, 87, of Lake Geneva, WI, died Friday April 27, 2018. She died peacefully at home and was ready to be embraced in the loving arms of our Lord. The former Arlis Norene Sackhoff was born in Chicago, IL on June 28, 1930 the daughter of the late Edward and Erma (Woeltje) Sackhoff. On July 10, 1948 in Franklin Park, IL she was united in marriage to Frank E. Hogberg; he preceded her in death on January 26, 1990. Arlis had worked for many years as a C. N. A. at Lakeland Nursing Home in Elkhorn, WI. She was a member of Como Community Church for over 50 years.
She loved most spending time with her family and friends. In addition, her great love of dogs and the companionship they provided was one of her greatest joys in life. Listening to NPR radio to keep up with current political events was a part of her daily life. She loved discussing politics as a result. She will be missed greatly by so many who loved her.
Arlis is survived by: 3 children; David (Barbara) Hogberg of Rogers, AR, Kimberly (James) Polzin of Milwaukee, WI and Lisa Hogberg of Wauwatosa, WI, 3 grandchildren; Heidi Foley, Laura (Steve) Ragsdale and George Hogberg, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 nephews, 2 nieces, a sister Joyce Trachte of Arpin, WI, former daughter-in-law Phyllis and her dear friend Carole Rice. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 2 grandchildren Sean Barnes and Tom Hogberg, 1 niece, 1 nephew, a brother Calvin Sackhoff, and dear friend Sara Hackett.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday May 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva; Pastor Bob Kamps of Como Community Church will officiate. There will be no visitation. In Lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Arlis’ name to Lakeland Animal Shelter.
