Thomas A. Edling

Thomas A. Edling, 64, of Lake Geneva, WI, died Monday June 26, 2017 at Burlington Rehabilitation and Care Center in Burlington, WI after a brief battle with cancer. Thomas Arthur Edling was born in Minneapolis, MN on November 2, 1952 the son of the late Arthur and Lucy (Kerr) Edling. He lived all over the Midwest but spent most of his years and raised his family in the western suburbs and city of Chicago, IL. He worked for and ran Candles Plus Inc., the family business started by his parents, for more than 30 years. For the past 10 years he worked as a long distance truck driver. He loved driving and being out on the open road. He also enjoyed golfing, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially with his kids and grandkids.

Thomas is survived by: 2 children; Jeremy (Amy) Edling of Geneva, IL and Katie (Jeff) Steinberg of Glen Ellyn, IL, 4 grandchildren; Dylan, Ella, Lucy, and Jake, 2 sisters; Holly Byrnes of Northville, MI and Tracy Edling of Paonia, CO and his dear friend and companion Tina Invergo. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Thomas’s life will be held on July 9th, 2017 at Asbury's at Boughton Ridge Golf Course in Bolingbrook, Illinois. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in his name to Food Allergy Research and Education at foodallergy.org.
