Sally K. Harper, 85, a longtime resident of Lake Geneva, WI, died Thursday January 28, 2016 at Geneva Lake Manor Nursing Home in Lake Geneva. The former Sally Kelley was born on March 7, 1930 in Rockford, IL the daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Shurtleff) Kelley. She graduated from Ferry Hall in Lake Forest, IL in 1948 and then from Lawrence College with a BA in English in 1952. Sally was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion in Lake Geneva. She had served on the Vestry of the church and had chaired and worked the antique show. She was a longtime volunteer at the Lake Geneva Library and was active in the Friends of the Lake Geneva Library. She worked for the Lake Geneva Welcome Wagon. For many years she visited shut-ins for Walworth County Human Services and she was active in R.S.V.P. She was an avid and talented bridge player.
Sally is survived by: 4 children; James (Donna) Harper Jr. of Westwood, MA, Mary (Gene) Van Nostern of San Jose, CA, Catherine Finn of Kennebunk, ME and Timothy (Natalia) Harper of Westerville, OH, 6 grandchildren; Ryan Finn, Jonathan Harper, Logan Harper, Emily Harper, Benjamin Harper and Ian Harper. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Elizabeth Wardwell.
Memorial services for Sally will be held on Saturday April 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Communion 320 Broad St. in Lake Geneva. A reception will follow immediately after the service ending at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Sally's name to: The Church of the Holy Communion Alter Guild or The Lake Geneva Public Library 918 Main St., Lake Geneva, WI 53147.
