JoAnn Seabury Erickson

JoAnn S. Erickson, 89, of Lake Geneva passed away on July 21st, 2016 at Lakeland Nursing Home in Elkhorn, WI.

Born JoAnn Seabury to the late Rollins and Annie (Gibson) in Hays, Kansas on May 10th, 1927.  JoAnn’s family relocated to Illinois where she became a member of the graduating class of 1945 from Maine East High School in Park Ridge, Illinois.  After high school JoAnn attended Northwestern University where she received her bachelors and masters degree in Music Education.  JoAnn taught in the Glenview Public Schools.  On September 24, 1949 JoAnn was united into marriage to the late Arthur L. Erickson in Evanston, Illinois.

JoAnn was part of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.  She was a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother.

2 children: Robert (Jane Simon) Erickson of Algonquin, Ill, and Beth (Brian) Ehlert of Lake Geneva, WI survive JoAnn.  4 Grandchildren: Christine Ehlert, Douglas (Liz) Ehlert, Benjamin (Jackie) Ehlert, and Sarah Erickson Simon and 3 great-grandchildren: Grace, Joseph, Christopher Ehlert all survive JoAnn.  1 sister in-law: Betty Heene of Jenson, MI. also survives Joann. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arthur, on June 14th, 2012.

Services for JoAnn will be held on Tuesday July 26th, 2016 at 11:00am at Linn Presbyterian Church.  Pastor Terry Hennesy will be presiding.
