Frank G. Heindl, 78, of Zenda, Wisconsin passed away at his home surrounded by family on November 23, 2016.

Born Frank George Heindl to the late Lawerance and Helen (Ranft) Heindl in Janauary of 1938 in Boise, Idaho.  Frank and his family relocated to Athens, Wisconsin where Frank becomes a member of the graduating class of 1956 from Athens High School.  On May 31st, 1956 Frank joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served until he was honorably discharge on May 30, 1960.  On September 2nd, 1961 Frank was united into marriage to Dolores Weber in Athens, Wisconsin.

Frank was a member of the Athens Fire Department from 1961-1963.  In 1963 Frank and Dolores relocated to Zenda, Wisconsin where Frank joined the Linn Township Fire Department where he served from 1963-1988.  Of the 25 years of dedicated service Frank gave to Linn Township Fire Department he was Chief for 11 of those 25 years.  Frank’s passion for the fire service was passed on to his son Pat and his grandson Cody. The only thing that surpassed Frank’s dedication to the fire service was his dedication to hunting and everything outdoors. 

Franks wife, Dolores, of 55 years survives him.  Frank and Dolores have four children: Deborah (Charles) Handel of Zenda, Wi; Patrick Heindl of Lake Geneva, WI; Steven Heindl of Ormond Beach Florida; and Susan (Donald) Kautz of Lake Geneva all survive Frank.  Four Grandchildren survive Frank; Adam (Gayleen) Handel of Burlington: Kyle Handel of Milwaukee, WI; Evan Handel of Zenda, WI; and Cody Heindl of Lake Geneva,

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held on Friday December 2nd, 2016 at 7:00pm in the chapel of Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva.  Visitation will be held from 4:00pm till time of service. 

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family of Mr. Heindl has asked that you make a donation in Franks name to Malignant Mesothelioam/American Cancer Society.  A link has been provided below for your convenience.
