Elmer O. Bublitz, 94, a lifelong resident of the Lake Geneva area, died Saturday December 1, 2012 at Village Glen in Lake Geneva.  Elmer Otto Bublitz was born in Geneva Township, WI on October 22, 1918 the son of the late Otto and Clara (Brellenthin) Bublitz.  He graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1936.  On September 21, 1940 in Lake Geneva he was united in marriage to the former Violet West; she preceded him in death on April 1, 1980.  He was a Veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army in the European Theater of Operations.  He had worked as a machinist with Holton Instruments and Getzen Instruments in Elkhorn, WI and then for Olson Tool and Die also in Elkhorn.  
He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva.  He was a member of Elkhorn American Legion Post, a former member of the Big Foot Archers and the Woods and Waters Sportsman’s Club.
Elmer is survived by: 2 sons Larry (Lana) Bublitz of Wisconsin and Arizona and Dan (Karen) Bublitz of Pell Lake, WI, 3 grandchildren; Michele Buelow, Bradley and Lance Bublitz, 5 great-grandchildren; Madison, Hayden, Megan, Mason and Isabella, and a sister Vivian Opitz of Sister Bay, WI.  He was preceded in death by a grandson Michael Bublitz and a great-granddaughter Josephine Bublitz.
Private services are to be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens; Pastor Mark Kaesmeyer of First Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate.  Derrick Funeral Home in Lake Geneva is assisting the Bublitz family with arrangements.  To sign the on-line guest registry please click: view/sign condolence book at the bottom of this page.
